# Concept of number rounding off

This post is on how to round off number. The rounding off number is used many time when there are many digits after decimal. This technique is also very useful in quick addition, subtraction, multiplication or division.

How do we square of a number. The rules are as follows:

1. Always move from Right to Left.

2. If the right hand number is say x , and if x >= 5, the left hand number will increase by 1

3. If the right hand number is say x and if x< = 5 then left hand number will remain same

let take example for example round the number 4.12729  to 2 digits after decimal

a. Start with 9, since 9 is greater than 5, left hand number 2 will become 3, the number is 4.1273.

b. Next step take right hand 3 since the number is less than 5 the ledt hand number 7 remain same 7 number will be 4.127

c. Now take 7 since it greater than 7, left hand number will increment by 1 making it 4.13
