JMET discontinued, IIT’s jump to CAT for MBA admissions

As per the latest notifications from IITs and IISc, the Joint Management Entrance Exams conducted by IITs and IISC for the MBA admissions stand cancelled. These institutes instead will accept the CAT scores for admissions.

Is it good or bad for the students for appearing for MBA admissions?

I feel it is a good move, reason:

  • Students are saved for appearing twice in exams that can have slightly different patterns
  • Preparation is easy as one knows what to prepare for and can focus on
  • I guess they are planning to increase reach by opening new center so less stress of travel to take exams
  • What do you think let us know?
