XAT 2012 notification has been issued by XLRI (Xavier Labour Relation Institute) in the newspapers. The details are as follows:
Registration Start: 20th September 2011
Examination Date : 8th Jan 2012
Eligibility: A bachelor’s degree from recognised university or deemed university.
Duration of the exam: 2 and half hours ( in 2011 it was from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM)
Application Fees : There is no increase in application fees of XAT. In 2011 it was Rs 1000/- for one programme or Rs 1600/- for more than one and maximum of three programme. The forms are available by Banks
Programmes: By XLRI- PM & IR and GMP
Test Pattern: The test pattern of XAT keeps on changing however based on last years papers analysis. We can say there would be 3 sections with different number of questions in each section. It is important students have thorough knowledge of basic arithmetic concepts.
Negative Marking = negative 20 % for first 5 wrong answers in each section and negative 25 % for subsequent wrong answers
There were 3 sections in 2011.
- Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning – Time limit ( 35 min – 34 Questions ) 69 marks weight-age
- Analytical Reasoning and Decision Making – Time limit ( 35 min – 24 Questions ) 67 marks wieghtage
- Data Interpretation and Quantitative Ability – Time limit ( 50 min- 43 Questions ) 117 marks weightage
From above it is quite clear there is focus in DI and QA as in there are 101 questions in totals with max. question in DI and QA and 117 marks weight-age. You can check out the Maths sections for some details included in readin.net click here
